But what is wellness? What does it really mean? How do we implement 'wellness' living into our daily lives? Why is it beneficial for us to look at a different approach to living than what we have been raised or learned about living on our own?
Wellness Defined:
According to www.dictionary.com wellness is defined as:
1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, esp. as the result of deliberate effort.
2. an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating diseases.
Our approach to wellness is a holistic, there are 5 areas that make up our life: Mental, Physical, Family (Relationships), Society and Finances.
If one area is out of balance, the other areas are affected. Every aspect of our lives are interdependent and mutually significant. Wellness is not just about eating well or exercising (those are important)...we are now starting to realize our lives are not just external, we are also being called to cultivate our internal world. To live from within, to align every aspect of ourselves.
That is what this website is about, learning how we can integrate all of ourselves together, to become more, to enrich the lives of ourselves and the lives of others.
This website is my opinion, my beliefs and thoughts on how the world works. I will share with you all that I have learned from the mentors, teachers, authors, friends, and family members that have impacted me the most. A lot of my life lessons were learned growing up in Montana, where my parents were 'green' WAY before it was cool! The other areas that have impacted my life is my experience participating in sports and after college, utilyzing my Economics degree to become an entreprenuer. I have seriously faultered many times, yet I believe that every experience is a learning experience....so I do my best to see my failures as opportunities for growth and learning.
It is my hope that my experience will guide and assist you with the areas of your life that you feel are in need of an adjustment. Questions and comments are greatly appreciated!
